Have 6 magitek pieces, but the ironworks guy will not give me my songs, the last time I did the fate I continued with help, but Noctis was not with us is that why ? So I basically have to do it again?

Have 6 magitek pieces, but the ironworks guy will not give me my songs, the last time I did the fate I continued with help, but Noctis was not with us is that why ? So I basically have to do it again?
You have to complete the first of the three Event Quests to trade in the items.
You have to progress a little bit further then just past the FATE to open the ironworks shop.
