Ps4 ShB pre-order question

My boyfriend pre-ordered ShB for me since he knows I keep intending to but forgetting and making jokes about it (yay!) but he did so via PSN.

I've gotten a confirmation email and everything (which shows that it'll be downloadable on the early access date) but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to link that to my mog station account or if I'm even supposed to? Since my XIV account is linked to my PSN will it just automatically recognize that ShB is pre-ordered on the other side or do I need to do something?

I'm less concerned about the pre-order bonus items and more worried about making sure that I'm not still fumbling around with this once early access is here.

For clarity there is nothing in the email that resembles a Mog Station item code, that was my first guess but the only identifying number there is the PSN order number which is a different length and format.

I pre-ordered mine via PSN and didn't have to do anything with mog station. You should be able to look onto your mog station account and see the Shadowbringers early access with a circle under the PS4 column. If you don't see that, then something has probably gone awry.

Once you buy it off PSN then link it your account its then linked to your Mog Station and etc. Don't need to do anything else it will automatically download everything once it's ready. PS you link the pre-order through PSN i.e. when starting up the game it will (or should) ask if you want to link the ShB PO to the account.

So is there no way to get the pre-order items before the ShB launch?

I found an old SB FAQ about this and it mentions only having this opportunity to link it come up after downloading the new xpac.

When you log in on the PS4, it will ask you if you want to link your preorder to your account

It should let you get those items right after you link it for example After I pre ordered the expansion through PSN it asked me if I want to link up my account with the pre order, when logging into the game, after I did so the items were delivered to me when they got released through the mail system. Only thing I downloaded I guess was just the data for the pre‐order but right now the only thing I have is just what is currently been released. So it really isn't anything extra to download you just have to link the pre order to your account.

So basically go into PSN go to the PS store purchase or pre order the expansion after that's done Log in to your final fantasy 14 account should ask you right after log in if you wanna link the shadowbringers pre order to your account. Just Yes to the questions and etc. after that's all done once you log into the game itself the PO items should be delivered to your character and you're good to go once they release expansion and it will automatically download the data when it's ready.

Thanks for the responses guys, it hasn't done this at all so off to SE support I go.

For now you will get the minion and earring i believe. Closer to launch you will get the theme for PS4 and i guess at launch it will be mount, blade, etc...

You should have gotten a prompt by the launcher to specify the service account to which the ShB addon is to be registered to. In case this doesn't work (and something I would do anyway in these case) go to your PS4's account management page and choose "Restore Licenses". Sometime the PS4 store doesn't do this automatically.
