Fantasia preview gear?

Hello. I maybe wanna buy a fantasia. But I'd like to know what my glams would look like on the new race. Is there any ways to do this?

I wanted to do this too but they make you take all your gear off before you do it.

The only alternative I can think of is to use your retainers as test dummies, if you have one with the right class/level to test your glams on, anyway. And even then you're still going in blind, just spending gil instead of money.

Depending on the gear, you could make an alt of the race and look and preview it at the market or whatever. I guess.

It's not much but the benchmark may help you a bit with that. There are some gear as example in it, you can try them.

Once when I went Au Ra female on my Astrologian character, I wanted to know what the lv.70 AF would look like with my chosen skin tone, hair color, etc. So I made an alt and sent a /tell to a lv.70 AST asking if they could link me the gear. They were kind enough to oblige. You could try that or ask some friends if they have the gear you're interested in.

It would be nice if we could access our glamour plates from the character creation screen or just make an alt and let us do that.

Depending on your outfits, you could make another character and go to the market boards to try the them on.

This, this is what I do. I have alts of different races just to play at the marketboard and try on clothes sometimes.

One method is to put your first six gear sets you want to try on a different race to the top of your gearset list.
Make a new character, then go into your FFXIV folder and looks for your gearset .DAT for your main character.
Copy that to the new character's folder and then level that character to level 10 so that you can take on new jobs.
This will let you open your gearset list on the new character, which you can right-click and hit "Preview Gear".
