What do you all think of a siege esque gamemode?

As the title suggests, what would you think of a siege or large scale capture the keeps or castle gamemode? I would imagine a WvW style pvp like in Guild Wars, where to invade you use siege weaponry (or even damage spells) to invade a series of keeps or regions and winners are determined over a long period of time, or a continually mode. (hop in hop out and an eventually hard reset) I'm not the biggest pvper so I'm not /as/ well versed in these things as others and would like to see any thoughts on the idea.

Seeing how long it takes for a normal frontline to open after the Datacenter split, i would simply say: it would almost never open because we dont have enough people interested in the current garbage-PvP. OR it would die a few weeks after release cause it lacks long term rewards.

Nah, SE can't handle large scale things, look at Raubahn EX and the FFX event where you're in queue for GATES in the gold saucer lol.

Would be nice, and since we have the 3 Grand Companies it could basically be a WvW clone from GW2. I think for it to work, it'd be something that is always running/instant pop like Eureka instances.

I'd really like to see them make use of the World Visit system for large scale PvP... Like right now you go to the city aetherytes to queue up to visit another server, why not just adapt that system so you "queue up" for a PvP Siege mode that isn't technically an instance? No timer or anything like that, technically it's a regular open world zone on some server, you just move everyone on the data center to the same Siege zone to hopefully give it enough activity. No need to wait for a queue to fill up with players, you just enter the zone and can play right away, shout to form up a party/etc., can dick around if you want, or try hard on some objectives.

Sort of like Eureka I guess, but that still works off instances and has some limitations as a result. Use World Visit to just have a single open world PvP area shared across the data center, that's GCvGCvGC with objectives, that you can queue for other content while doing? Best thing SE could do for PvP IMHO. Everyone doing Feast, or Frontlines, or Rival Wings, or 5.0s Battle Royale clone, could go to this zone to earn some extra rewards while waiting on queue. Every PvPer from across the data center. Would do wonders for the social side of PvP.

Bonus points if, instead of <Wanderer> we get <Hunter> or something. Or since it's GC PvP based, maybe use the old GC PvP Rank titles? <Serpent Chaser>, <Storm Howler>, <Flame Puppy>, etc. Be nice if PvP Rank was some how relevant for something again...

I'd rather see the PvE version, honestly.

The interest in PvP feels very niche; it is certainly there, and there are people who do PvP and enjoy it, but the hurdle seems to be the queue'ing.
