Differents tier of spells.
Hello guys. First of all sorry for my english, isn't my main language.
Now i want to tell everyone a thing that i was thinking on how to put different spell tier without breaking the way that this game is going.
Note: Tier casting bar is more thinking on THM/BLM, but maybe it could has some uses on other classes with a few changes.
WTF is this? Tier casting bar.
Take the casting bar and divide it into 4 parts. One at 25%, other at 50%, 75% and the last one at 100%. Being 25% tier 1, 50% tier 2, 75% tier 3, 100% tier 4.
With a key, idk, for example "Y" (not sure if it has an use atm, can't log into the game now and don't remember) and with this make us able to change what tier we want to cast.
Every tier has his thing, tier 1 fast cast but low damage and low mp usage, tier 4 long cast but high damage and big mp usage.
Tiers and levels of the class/job
I was thinking something like, at level 1 you can only do tier 1, so cast spells to 100% w/o a way to set another tier. At level 10 makes able a Tier 2, setting it at 50% will make tier 1 again, then to 100% tier 2. At level 30 every 33% set a new tier and then at 50 the last (at least for now) tier.
Recast of spells
Lower tier with no recast, then will growing up with every tier. Every tier in the middle is like a bridge (?), with this i want to say, if you use a tier 4, you get a recast timer only for T4, still can use lower, but if you use T3, you will need to wait full recast to use T4, anyways you could still use T1-T2.
Why do i want this?
1-Take a mob X, you cast thunder on it and he is now in 2%, casting another spell will kill it for sure but you will waste a lot of mp that could have it more uses for next fight if you can't rest.
2-Now with the addition of the interrupt of spells while moving maybe you want to run away from the mob because he's going to kick your ass, you want to do damage and gtfo away fast (yes, you could use blizzard/blizzaga i know, but this can be nice too).
Effects of the spell on tiers.
Maybe it's sound cheat lowering the cast and mp usage to use some spells only because his effects (Bind, heavy). so every tier on this spells should add a magic accuracy bonus or more time on what time the effect stay.
Finishing this. Sorry if this sound a bad idea or you don't understand what i want to say. It took me a lot of time to write this, so if you don't agree me please don't insult me.
Suggestions? thoughts? I'm crazy? Being from a third world countries it made me a guy with shitty idea?
