Let us hire drivers

When driving the Regalia you're stuck in the driver's seat all the time. There should be an option to have a driver (retainer, generic maid/butler?) so you can sit in one of the other seats and use the other poses while solo.

Or just hop on the Regalia of a friend!

They should let our trusts ride with us in the regalia.

Urianger or Thancred would have to be the driver. Everyone else is too short to see over the dashboard.

why not have the option of letting our Ventures be the chauffeur?

I would guess from a technical standpoint, a version where the player is in a different seat might need to be programmed as an entirely separate mount - and possibly also for every specific driver you might want accompanying you.

Are there any customisable mounts other than your chocobo partner?
