Unable to enter the game using dx11

Hello everyone! I've been playing this game for years without much of an issue yet since earlier today I haven't been able to log in the game using dx11. The game just closes itself after hitting the play button on the launcher. I had no issues whatsoever yesterday or the day before but today I can only play if I disable dx11 support. Any ideas?

Things I've tried:
- Rollbacking nvidia drivers to the previous release.
- Doing a clean install of the graphic drivers and installing the latest version.
- Check for any windows update (no recent updates).

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Do you recall anything updating/changing on your PC that coincides with this?

Do you receive any kind of error message when the game closes?

First I'd suggest trying a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Also make sure to close all other unnecessary programs while playing the game, especially overlays (Geforce Experience, Discord Overlay, etc.).

Hi!

As I previously said, I only recall updating my graphics card drivers which I tried reinstalling to a previous version. Regardless I was still not able to log with DX11 ON.

I don't get any error messages, it seems as if the game is starting and then suddenly closes before showing the main screen (even the launcher closes).

Recently tried disabling all overlays, no luck.

I apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. Are you able to log onto the game using Direct X 9? Also have you tried resetting the compatibility mode? If not, please use the following:

To change compatibility mode, right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7
