Did the second lorebook go into much detail about the mon used in Hingashi? I recall an excerpt about the hidari mitsudomoe that's prominent in Kugane being the emblem of the Tokugawa expies or some such but that's it.

Not in detail, sadly. The mitsudomoe is indeed the "banner of the Mitsurugi clan", which are presumably the Tokugawa equivalents, but that's all the lorebook says about it. The current Bugyo of Kugane is of the Matsuba clan, so the mon above the Kugane Castle gates might be theirs?
Yeah, that one. I've never been good at reading stylized symbols, so I also assumed it was a pine tree, but I concede that it could be some really stylized clouds or something.
Again, it's just a random sign in the vicinity of Kugane Castle, and there is no indication that I know of about what it represents. But it might be the Matsuba Clan's emblem, if I were to speculate.
