housing timer

It's been 3 days. 5 houses slipped past me.
Today I have been at it for 15 hours.
My back hurts, sleep is lacking, and people are rude.
I'M RUNNING OUT OF COFFEE TO INHALE.

I know the timer was put in cause of house flippers, but this is seriously cruel and unjust..
Please SE, there has to be a better way.
This is murdering me.

I don't know why a set timer that everyone can see wasn't the system they put in place. It would give everyone an equal chance to get a plot while also treating people equally by not letting someone who's been waiting for 12+ hours lose out to someone who just showed up at the placard five minutes before it unlocked.

How about, in place of a random timer, just place a public announcement in the chat window for plots available followed by a 1 hour bidding period like when you bid for items in a dungeon. Once a player bids the player is notified of the bid number also via chat window then at the end of the bidding period the winner is announced with the person's corresponding bid to all who joined the bidding, wherever they are ingame, again via chat window, and the person has 1 hour to claim the plot, otherwise the bidding will commence once again.

Take a break and get some rest, your health is more important and houses will pop up especially when the free server transfers are done and everyone has settled into their new server of choice.

But that just means there will be lots of empty plots ALL with random timers.

You mean so only the wealthiest players have a chance to buy a house instead of giving all players the chance to buy as long as they have enough gil to make the purchase?

How about no. You sound like you work for a gil seller trying to increase business.

Once the free transfer period is over, anything still available will most likely already have had the timer expire so it's ready to purchase.

Bidding like when you bid for items in a dungeon run, just a numerical value and not thru gil, once a player wins the bidding, he or she can now purchase the available plot according to its posted price. My apologies if my post was not on layman's terms, and No also i don't work for a gil seller.

Maybe instead of that, more like a lottery system? You go to the placard, give the gil to buy it, there's a list of buyers and then by RNG one person buys it and everyone else gets their money back. Equal opportunity for everyone, it guarantees everyone has the gil to buy it and you don't risk your life clicking for 15 hours!
