Request: Add a lantern feature

It gets pretty dark at night sometimes. It'd be pretty nice to have a lantern feature to stave off the dark or just set the mood. It's one simple core adventurer's tool that seems to be missing from the game.

It only needs to be a personal light, we don't need to see other peoples' lights.

It could also lend to some interesting dungeon ideas.

Think you meant to post "Please make Dragon's Dogma 2" over at Capcom Unity forums.

There's already a lantern. You can get the minion from wolf marks and it will follow you around.

God I miss dragons dogma.

Ah yes, Dragon's Dogma, the only thing I can possibly think of when I think of these so-called "lanterns". Truly a myth before that prodigy of a game.

The darkness in this game has always been one of my complaints. I suppose they're trying to keep the hours & feel of night more realistic, but in an MMO it's kind of annoying to me. I swear it feels like 95% of the time I want to try and take a screenshot, it's dark. Or raining. Maybe both.

If they could tweak the night hours to not last at long, or maybe stretch dusk/dawn, I'd be thrilled.


A lantern could also be a nice touch ;)

I was certain that "Deepest Dungeon" tech demo they showed off for PS4 way back was gonna eventually emerge as DD2...

That minion is not a light source.

Also I really don't understand why it is hopping forward on the ground instead of flying beside you...

We have the Sun and Moon minons too, wich actually add light, but they are fixed and will not follow you around.

I think a rework / reskin of the lantern minion would be nice, so it actually can work as a light source.

I would welcome a feature like this. I like dramatic settings, and it gets way too dark sometimes. When I travel through darkness like that I always think, "My character must be a real idiot to go out adventuring in the nighttime without a light."

Also that minion is not real lantern. It's weak af.

I love the nighttime.... but I think a lantern would make it even better. A counterpoint to the darkness.... making the dark even more.... dark by comparison. I approve of the idea.
