What not do as a new player getting into crafting!! Lessons Learned the Hard way!

Hey everyone first post here just wanted to start out saying that the community surrounding FFXIV is refreshing in an MMO and very centered around helping others so I thought I would give back and give my failures on leveling crafting that hopefully new players can avoid So here we go....

1. PLEASE PLEASE LEVEL ALL CLASSES TOGETHER!! The Crafting classes are woven together and unless your simply new to crafting and have alot of gil to buy materials off the Market board, or your Free Company has some omnicrafters that will help you level a class without having the others I would just recommend that you keep them all within 4-5 levels of each other:cool:

2. USE YOUR GUILD SUPPLIER FOR MATERIALS! Ok so the guild supplier is located in each guild and they have alot of materials for you to use that will essentially level your crafting class to 15 with ease. Im not ashamed to admit that I went solo without doing research to level my first crafting class (Goldsmith) and i bought stacks of copper ore off the Market Board for 20-30 times the cost because I didn't realize the guild supplier sold them. :mad:

3. MAKE USE OF FIRST TIME CRAFTING BONUS! So when you open your crafting log you will see all the items that you are able to craft for that class 1-5, 6-10,11-15 and so on. Each time you craft an item for the first time it gives you a significant amount of bonus experience that will level you in lower levels extremely fast!

4. GRAND COMPANY MISSIONS: These are a great way to continue leveling your trade craft and field craft classes these missions can be found at your Grand company location once you have unlocked them. Then you will speak with NPC next to the quartermaster. Now at this point if you have listened to my first point then you will see items to turn in for experience , gil and seals from each trade craft and field craft. Turning these in once daily will increase your leveling speed and also as a bonus if you are a HQ crafter or have someone in your FC that can help, ask someone to help you craft HQ item for turn in because this will give you double the experience.

5.LEVEQUEST ARE YOUR FRIEND: If you don't know what these are they are found in your major cities for the areas tradecraft, battlecraft and fieldcraft classes. These are great ways to level your crafting fast especially if you have been playing for a little bit and have more than 1-4 allowances. You can do levequests as many times as you want (as long as you have allowances) and similar to the Company missions they want you to turn in items and turning in HQ items gives you double the experience.



Do all these things in the beginning and you will begin a successful journey in FFXIV crafting ENJOY!
