Beastmaster.
I’ll make this brief. After new job announcements it’s obvious the two spots remaining to really round out the cast of Jobs is another Healer, and a Physical Ranged DPS.
I propose Beastmaster fill the ranged slot.
-BST in FFV, used whips, which were optimal from the back row.
-Rather than be Dexterity based like the other 3 RDPS, BST should be strength based.
-BST as a strength base can share armor with Dragoon. It’s not hard to imagine that Dancer might be sharing gear with Ninja.
-BST stands in the back while commanding pet. (The direct pet class you’ve been waiting for.)
-BST has Carnivale content.
-Or, alternative to the carnivale, should be able to tame and raise monsters on a farm.
-The job should not be limited and nor should Blue Mage. (just sayin’)
-Monsters should be captured on the overworld, and Raised like Pokémon.
-Preset your favorite pets.
-Balance pets around thier genus, make it practical to have one of every type of kin.
-Release your capture monsters out of gourds/jugs to Summon them while fighting.
-Dead pets go on cooldown, forcing you to switch to your next one.

I’ve wanted beast master for so long. It’s the only class I’d play even if it couldn’t heal others.

Beastmaster will probably become a limited job so basically it can´t be counted into the Job-System, same as Blue mage.

There are several rumors/wishes for Beastmaster... Range DD, Limited Job even some concepts for Gatherer... im curious myself but no matter which role they will take for it... I hope they'll get a way smoother/more detailed pet-system. Although im main smn since nearly 4 years now... I don't wanna imagine a Beastmaster with a current like Egi-System... that would be more painful than fun in any way.. : /

Because pet A.I is bad and companions are also bad BST will likely function as it did in V where you bottle a monster and then sic it on something.

I'd imagine BST has a pretty high chance of being the melee Limited job class with PUP following it. He's mentioned that they fit in the limited job aspect with BLU , while not concrete, just fits the most. Could be saying that to not basically leak and say "YEP BST IS LIMITED JOB! you heard it here first!"
My guess is that it's a Chain sword whip and they are testing out the physics with the DRK sword. I believe they'd think something too loose like a whip would be annoying to code and flimsy as well as needing sorta a physics animation for it as you run and what not as well as being a bit easier to "Show off" for it's theme when it's as a chain sword whip.
My guess with the pets is that maybe they'd have different food to summon them maybe? work in some way like chocobo but a different menu separate from BST. So you can sorta choose unique stuff for your beasts and load outs.
not saying I think BST or BLU should be limited, just I think they don't see a problem with it since there's more people who like to do side content and random stuff than raiders so balancing a class for raid stuff isn't a push for them to make so many classes to fit in that spectrum.

I actually wouldn't mind having Beastmaster as a Limited Job. I'd be thrilled to even be able to play one :cool:

Work has apparently started on limited Beastmaster already, although there was virtually nothing other a job symbol.
Might have just been a concept some devs were playing with that has been scrapped.
The FFXIV subreddits discord channel has some info.
Edit: oof, an april fools got me. I feel quite the fool right now...

beastmaster as job should be hybrid job one should be about gain trust with they pets and fight side by side with they pets.
we already have pet job that stand back it called summoner.

I honestly think people who really want BST shouldn't just roll over and go "Oh I'll take it as a limited job", the same as my stance on BLU, I'd rather have them both unlimited or not at all.
