cannot get to ishgard

got to level 50 and cannot find any way to get the "before the dawn" quest which is required to get to ishgard gate. I have no main quests in recomended duty.

What was the last MSQ mission you completed?

I remember having misunderstood what it would take to get to Ishgard the first time I played. Might be able to help.

Sounds like you need to go back to the Waking Sands? Does this help?

Also you have a long ways before Ishgard I'm sorry to say. Will edit with a map of the coming quests for you so you have a sense of it. ARR takes a long time, but the arc just before Ishgard is a lot of fun. Try not to spoil it for yourself!

EDIT: This maps out the quests you have done and what lies ahead! When I was leveling up for Ishgard I felt impatient and daunted so being able to track how much was left helped me haha. Last quest of patch 2.55 is Before the Dawn and will be the one you're looking for. You're still patch 2.0 I think?

You'll have fun stuff in the meantime though. Still have Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva, Yugiri, Moenbryda, and a wild adventure with the Crystal Braves. :)

Oh, well, I'm really sorry to say, but you have a long way to go, as you are only up to near the end of the original story for A Realm Reborn (the '2.0 story'), which was extended gradually by five successive patch main scenario stories that follow on from it, one after the other (2.1 A Realm Awoken, 2.2 Through the Maelstrom, 2.3 Defenders of Eorzea, 2.4 Dreams of Ice, and finally, 2.5 Before the Fall.

You can skip all this by buying the ARR skip potion from the Mogstation, but I don't recommend that, as you miss out on a lot of story that explains exactly why you end up in Ishgard in Heavensward.

Yah. Reaching level 50 doesn't mean you get to jump to level 50 quests. Still gotta follow the story.
