Hi everyone
So im new and old in FFXIV :P Been playing the game on off for since day 1. but never been in a guild, (I guess its called free company in ffxiv?)
So my question is, how do i find companys in this game? (I want to raid and do PVE stuff)
Been raiding in most mmos out there, so time to try ffxivs raids out on a higher level :)
Shout in game or give a tell to ones who advertise in shout. Sometimes if you just wander around long enough someone will just send you a random invite to one.
I don't know if it's the best method, but when I was looking for a company, I used to inspect a lot of players I saw around in the main cities to look at their FC's info. The FC profile window doesn't tell a lot, but it shows how many members they have (total and currently online), if they have a house (and where), and if the FC leader set it it can have a brief description, selections of which types of activities they're most involved in, and whether or not they're currently recruiting new members. Particularly if you're looking for an FC with plenty of active members, just noticing which FC tags appear by players names a lot can give you a clue on that, too.
Once you find FC's you're interested in, you can either submit an application to the FC through the FC profile window, or can ask a player from that FC if they can recruit you (or who can if they don't have recruiting privileges).

The Free company search on the lodestone will let you apply a number of filters to list the available FCs on your server.
Just take your time at Limsa. Sooner or later there will be an invite for you. Bonus points if you main healer or tank.
