Summoners and Physick
So with all the exciting stuff in regards to 5.x coming up, this popped into my head once again due to the reworking of jobs once again for Shadowbringers. What is going to, if anything, possibly happen with this spell in regards to it being on Summoner?
I mainly bring this up because currently its just... there. At most on Summoner it will heal about 700hp which really doesn't do much aside from it being ok in some low level content. Personally I'd like to see us given a trait that makes it more useful as a healing spell for Summoner, but I do understand if that can't be done.
However it would be nice to see... something happen to it so we don't have a useless skill just sitting there. What are some of your thoughts?

It can be traited to heal more. It doesn't need to though. Just pretend it doesn't exist. The solution should be "kill it faster", not "prolong the fight". Even RDM doesn't use its heal except to trigger Dualcast during downtime. Exceptions to this are in exceptional situations that we don't need to balance around, like undersizing or waiting for a healer replacement.

It's there because it is part of the base class. I don't think its power will increase though as they aren't a healer.

Make it in to an action for your pet, as Physick itself isn't required at later levels. The pet could take x amount of damage in place of the master, or it could sacrifice a percentage of pet HP to restore someone else's MP. Lots of things could be done with it, but whether anything will that's the big question.

They should either make it do something or get rid of it. Currently it just takes up a slot that another ability could take.
That being said, I leave it in my hot bar as a joke to heal people when they get rezzed because 1k crit summoner heals bring me joy.

They technically can't remove Physick from Summoner, because that would mean it'll get removed from Scholar. They can't move it as a SCH job action either because SCH will have no access to healing skills pre-level 30.
All they can do is ignore it, or make an INT-based heal trait for it so it acts like Vercure.

If things go according to plan you will no longer have it. Currently physic is a byproduct of not being able to seperate the SMN/SCH jobs from their base class ACN.
SB introduced the first changes towards switching base classes into jobs. The idea was always to completely finalize the switch for the following expansion. I suspect that that means you will no longer be able to level SMN and SCH together in shb. And you'll have a rework of which skills you bring over to SMN from ACN (ie: not physic).

I'm not sure if SE will remove Physick. I think they kept it as part of acn so new players can familiarise themselves with the idea of having and using healing spells in case they play sch.

This can't be right. Am I on the wrong forum? I could have sworn every thread on the FF14 forums was about gender-locking and a lack of healer job.

Ruin already changes to Broil for SCH, so maybe they could do something similar for SMN and Physick. I doubt they'd remove it altogether.
