People promise themselves all kinds of features and then hype it up themselves, then act like a promise was broken when their collective delusions turn out not to be true.
To be fair, when asked about male Viera they played coy like, "We've got another fanfest! We need to save some news for Tokyo!" .. It really would have been better to down play it just a bit instead of adding hype. Can't be too hard on people for holding out hope.. Even if we should know better by now, haha.
I just don't understand the decision. This game started with some one-sex races, and they did away with all that due to player demand. And now we're back to having one-sex races again?
Problem is, they didn't announce a whole new race. They announced half of one.
@everyone saying "lol they never said male viera y u hype urself up over a thing that they didn't say they would do"
Because they set the expectation with 2.0 when they unlocked the muscular female highlander and female roegadyn, and the antisocial and low birthrate male miqo'te.
If it's wrong to expect the fastest growing mmo to live up to the standards it set when it rebooted due to numerous design failures, then I don't want to be right.
Also, there's a massive problem with the specifics of how they gender locked the races. Making the "thin, sexy, scantilly-clad" race women-only, while making the "big, strong, fierce" race male-only is a really bad look.
I'm pretty sure most of them are upset because they can't run around with a bunny boy in stockings or a speedo afk dancing in limsa or heavy erp in ul'dah. Or something.
Because everyone is different and thus has differing opinions on the direction they wished the game would take?
I am fine with it myself. I think it is ok they are doing something different.
