Fisherman Guild Ranks (Content Concept)

Fishermans Guild Rank

Fishermans Rank unlocked once a player hits level 50 fisher.
Its based on how many common and big catches the guild NPC requests for the new rank.

Recatching the same fish will not count.

This will allow access to buy different type of items at the fishermans guild.

Swim gear (Same type earned threw Desysthesising ARR fish but none tradable.)
Triple Triad Cards, Minions, Mounts, Housing items, Music, Emotes, Hairstyle, Aquarium Tank backgrounds

Note:
Big Catches aren't completely overbearing since there are over 170+ already in the game and rank 10 is aimed more for 5.0 launch.
This is very much the same kind of reward system as beastmen ranks. Will cost gil to buy the below items and are untradeable.

(No requirements, unlocked at 50.)
Shop: Armor vanity rewards

Rank 2
50 common types of fish and 3 big catches
Shop: Hairstyle, Emote

Rank 3
100 common types of fish and 6 big catches.
Shop: Minion, Triple Triad card

Rank 4
150 common types of fish and 12 big catches.
Shop: Aquarium tank background, Music Track

Rank 5
200 common types of fish and 24 big catches.
Shop: Chocobo Barding

Rank 6
250 common types of fish and 42 big catches.
Shop: Mount : Sea Monk

Rank 7
300 common types of fish and 64 big catches.
Shop: Housing item, Vanity armor

Rank 8
350 common types of fish and 86 big catches.
Shop: Triple Triad card, Background Music

Rank 9
400 common types of fish and 108 big catches.
Shop: New type of Aquarium tank

Rank 10
450 common types of fish and 130 big catches.
Shop: Mount: Ultros

That's a neat concept. I don't completely agree with you rank requirements and rewards set up (I'd remove the emote and hair, make big fishing start at rank 4 instead of immediately, etc) but I really like the idea of fishing having more in the way of tangible rewards.

i like the idea but i believe yoshi-p always said that fishing was always just supposed to be a leisure activity, nothing special. I don't see them putting any effort into making it like what you're envisioning.

I love whipping out my rod in-game. I'd love more rewards and challenges for doing so.

I think I'd be happy if they just added more achievement rewards.

It's silly that they stopped giving out rewards for big fish after ARR.

Would agree but big catch is really low in already a sea of big fish already in the game. Lots of those players that want that kind of stuff only want to aim for short term goals. First few ranks start off low then start requiring 20 large fish per rank and commons are +50 per rank. Can finish all the big catches within ARR if you wanted since the requirement is so low on that end but common catches require you to be caught up in every expansion patch after Rank 4.

Rewards should be more fishing related. They should be things that make fishing more enjoyable for those that already enjoy fishing.

Such as? Not much stuff in the game that is fishing related. Rods are already in the game. Anything related in terms of stats get outdated very fast.
However if your asking for some kind of new fishing content. I have jotted down something for another forum topic but it wouldn't work with this ranking system since its very much like gardening but with fish.
