Am I an idiot?

I have been running Siren Song on WHT to lvl up and it was going fine till this last run where the tank just didn't seem to be able to take a hit and I was having trouble keeping her alive. After the second wipe she told me I need to spam cure 2, which is odd as I've never had to do that before. I ended up looking at her gear cause I and she was using lvl 62 armour, a lvl 50 weapon and acc from lvl 30 to 50.
When I pointed this out she stated that her gear doesn't matter because she is synced, I said it doesn't work that way and it escalated from there causing 2 more wipes with us arguing.
So I just want to know am I wrong? Her armour isn't enough when her other gear was 11+ lvls to low was it?

a lvl 50 weapon like actually 50, 90 or 130? Anyways its on her and we got plenty threads of such things, it was definitly not you^^

It was augmented Ironworks so 130.

If the armor was lvl 62 HQ, it should have been more than enough for Sirensong, though with an Ironworks weapon I'm surprised they managed to hold aggro at all. And while the defense/mdefense stats on accessories aren't really important, they were probably lacking a significant chunk of vitality if they still had 30-50 right side gear, which would also have made them very squishy. Definitely not your fault in this situation - they were very undergeared and taking advantage of the lack of min ilvl requirements on leveling dungeons.

OK that is what I thought. I don't really mind undergeared tanks most of the time, I just wish she would have let me know so I could focus all my attention on her and not try to dps as much.

Honestly I wouldn't blame you if you chose to kick that tank as wiping several times knowing they are at fault but trying to blame others wouldn't be worth keeping them around. I mean it sounds like you tried your best anyway, it's really up to them to fix their gear before they do any more SB duties.

You absolutely were not at fault. The tank wasn't up to the minimum gear requirements and was trying to blame you for their refusal to gear up. The fact that some of their accessories were still in the 30's on top of their weapon being a whole expansion out of date just makes me think you're a saint for even entertaining them as long as you did. They could have gotten a world-first level healer who parses above the 90th percentile in everything they do and they still would have been cut through like wet paper.

If you have to spam cure 2 to keep the tank alive, something's not right.

Based off what you have stated, this particular run sounds like a total nightmare.

When you say lvl 62 armor, I guess you meant NQ armor. Compared to the non-augmented shire armor, the lvl 62 crafted armor has about 10% less defense and VIT in NQ. That alone makes them very squishy. Add the missing VIT from weapon (about 120 less VIT points) and their accessories (up to 400 VIT point difference). They would make themselves a very good Dragoon by tanking the floor, but nothing else. They were but a hindrance.

Just interested: Did you clear that run with said tank? What did they mean "her gear doesn't matter because she is synced"? Were they higher than lvl 62, but still wearing lvl 62 armor? (If so, that would be even more stupid than it already is.)
