Housing is difficult, always has been. Especially when 14 houses on ONE ward (Ward 5 on Limsa in particular) is owned by ONE(?) free company.

Every house is registered under <<Shu>>, with the owners having names such as Entropy Workshop (number here, highest I've seen is 28) but each Free Company has a variation in the name. Also only 2 members in each also.

How is anybody meant to get a house when people are like this can circumvent the restrictions?

It's all well and good saying to just wait for demolish, but I managed to keep a family members house from demolishing whilst they took a break for 2 years.

And this is why the ward system is bad. The actions of others can too easily negatively impact someone else.

I fail to see how not being at cap is any sort of valid point here? I've been around since 2012. Did not realise that my knowledge is gated because I'm missing out on a few hours of story, a couple raids and 10 levels.

Also, ward 14 in Limsa is the same. 17 plots all owned by the "same" FC/person

Not going to go into a full out explanation. Its very simple you can have multiple characters on one server all in FC's with homes be promoted to leader of those FC's despite them all having homes. Now its not a bug or a exploit its allowed cause FC's whether they have a house or not need to have a FC leader. As to how they are purchasing the houses I wont explain that here as people may use it too their advantage.

Considering the amount of effort and gil it takes to level multiple FCs to rank 6, I really admire people that had the idea of doing so early.

The entitled opinion of "look they have something I want, make them give their thing to me" is toxic in my view.

This "something needs to be done" post isn't addressing the root of the issue, that we need improvements to the overall housing system. It's just needless whining.

Even if you take away all their houses, statistically you probably still wouldn't get one because housing scarcity is real. We are at a shortage of thousands of houses for the active players on each server.

Mind your own business about other players and put that energy toward bring productive. Like solving the problem.

I love the current ward system, but could we potentially expand on the current instanced system for ishgard and have larger instanced apartments with multiple floors and the ability to garden?

Nah I actually agree with him, even if this change could allow more people/FCs a chance at owning a house it would be good vs 1 person owning 5 houses because they cheated the system and circumvented the rules. If there is some procedure people are using to bypass the ingame restrictions on housing than it needs to be fixed. Perhaps implementing auto demo for FC housing based on the number of service accounts(or lack there of) that are actually in the FC with characters.

What needs to be done first is turning back on the demolition timer which has been on for a good few months. Potentially that could free up some properties before ShB, and then we'll have to see when the expac drops whether housing has had any changes/more wards etc.

I agree that has to be done, sadly though it’s not going to fix the problem of people cheating the system to have several houses on a single account.
