Shout Out to Edgy DRKs

I have zero ability or confidence as a tank, and this thread really isn't somewhere I'm planning to talk about skill or job opinions on a technical level. I just want to say I think it's really fun that dark knights are completely aware they're the most grimdark class of all and run with it. The first people I see cracking jokes about how edgy dark knights are tend to be the dark knights themselves and to me that's just magical.

I have a special place in my heart for you guys with your all black and your spiky armor and absurdly huge swords and screamo music. I'm glad you get to be the showcase job for Shadowbringers and I hope it's everything you ever dreamed of lol. :P

Reading that post, the irony for me is that I've actually tried to stray away from all that. I've tried a few looks but they looked too...out of character? I don't have a good label for it. Anyways, I was rocking a mix of DRK AF2 and AF3 with the Nidhogg weapon for a long time and then I decided on on Cloud's body chest with bridesmaid leggins, demonic thighboots and shaded spectacles with the Baldur Blade. It's like a good inbetween I feel comfy with: looks sleek and has a certain rebellious swag to it.

Still, I might revert to full edgelord at ShB start. Maybe.

Personally I think the whole 'edgy' thing has become a bit too much of a meme at this point, but there's some really nice dark, spiky armour available.

I'm currently focusing more on the knight part for my look, with an Ishgardian vibe to it. There's a ton of great armour sets out there! ^_^

There are a lot of creative options in this game so makes 100% sense to me people would take a lot of different routes with that. The reason I did shout out to the edgy DRKs is because I haven't really seen so much of that unapologetic good humor with dark stuff before. It always makes me smile, looks like a lot of folks just having a lot of fun haha.

I don't tank seriously, don't really like the role, but it's useful when doing unsynced contents with FC members, so I may glamour my dark knight in nothing but bikini from time to time, the white summer morning version, obviously.

I just know that if I ever leveled DRK I would wear the black bikini, namazu collar and goldsaucer bunny ears lol!

I really enjoy that the DRK lore coincides so well with the lore I have written for my character. Like a match made in the abyss. The whole duality aspect that involves the WoL if they partake in this job I wrote up before I even touched DRK, so the conclusion of both the 30-50 and 60-70 questlines seriously hit home for me. I'm quite proud to be an edge lord-ess, and not jumping on a bandwagon as result of it being the poster job for the next expansion. Not mocking those who do, of course. DRK is a tank after all and the game needs more of them.

We're seriously a bag of kupo nuts. Our hearts have bandaids, bruises, scars, and barbed wire wrapped all around them but it's tough to find one that beats stronger!
