Is anyone switching mains from dps to tank because of gunbreaker?
Is anyone switching mains from dps to tank because of gunbreaker?
Nope, not planning on changing to DNC either. I expect both to be problematic out of the gate, just like DRK and AST were.
I was a SMN main all of 2.0 and when DRK came out I switched to tank and never looked back. I will try out gunbreaker and if I like it I will main it, otherwise I will just stick with DRK.
I think people are really just waiting for May when the new job skills are released where people can actually see it in action and its abilities.
I main Rdm and play Pld to spice things up. I’ve enjoyed tanking more as time has gone by, so I may be one to switch to Gunbreaker as a main. All about how it’s mechanics will turn out.
no i don't think so
i won't be switching from dps but after i max pld i will be lvling all other tanks to max so gunbreaker will also be raised with them.
Just wanted to toss in a reminder that just because not many people may switch roles, doesn't mean tanks (or healers for that matter) should never get new content.
If a few people do want to switch to try the cool new job, though, more power to you and enjoy it.
Even the main you have now could be vastly different. For example i loved HW DRK i thought it was alot of fun to play, now i find that it is just really dull and boring, DA spam is simply not fun(imo). I am certainly gonna give GUN a try and level it, but deciding a main is not a decision to be made just because something looks cool. At least in my personal opinion.
I went into SB having just hit 60 on AST, WHM was my prior main. I haven't touched WHM in over a year now. My first 70 dps was SAM and now I play RDM nearly every day, and haven't even worked on my SAM's ilvl in ages.
Besides, while some folks may declare a "new main" without having played the class or see how it plays, I doubt many will. And even if no dps switch (which is unlikely), it's still worth it just for the fresh blood it brings to tank mains.
I main'ed SMN from my first day playing ARR all the way through SB... only to switch to RDM after getting it to 70 and taking it through some endgame content (specifically, I finished off the last two turns of Omegascape, Ridorana Tower and Obonne Monastery, as well as about 5 hours in Eureka Anemos). I'm having such a blast with RDM that I don't expect I'll ever seriously touch SMN again. Level it to 80, sure.... but RDM is just so much fun to play and SMN is just.... not.
I won't be switching to Gunbreaker when it comes out. I probably won't even unlock it for quite some time (heck... I still haven't even unlocked DRK due to slowly leveling up PLD for kicks).
