Glamouring a wand over a staff

Hi there !

Like the title says, id'l like SE to allow us to glam wands and sceptres over staff for both WHM and BLM.

Some of those wands are really cute but passed lvl15 they become totally useless :/

Are you not able to? Is it a matter of 1-hand vs 2-hand?

Not only are some really cute, some actually cost money even though they become totally useless.

You're not, not sure why to be honest. You can glamour 1-slot items over 2-slot ones in other circumstances.

It's probably a type restriction. Let's say you want to glamour a tunic over a cloak that forbids headgear. The two are both of type "body". One-handed and two-handed weapons, however, are two different item types.

That seems to be it, and I assume they haven't been merged yet because the item type affects whether you can equip a shield in your off-hand slot.

Considering 1-handed caster weapons are virtually useless now I wouldn't mind if they technically became 2-handers that just look like 1-hand wands.

I don't like staffs, they clip with my giant hat. Wands sit neatly on my hip, very little clipping.

"Useless" is relative to player level rather than time, though. If your mage is currently below Lv50, wands and shields are just as relevant as they've always been.

Wands are acceptable weapons.

The caster shields were never particularly relevant though, a random chance of a weak block on a squishy mage was exactly as useful as it sounds.

Or even worse... You find a cute little shield that would be great for a PLD Glamour you have but then you look closer and see the CNJ/WHM or THM/BLM tag on it and cri ;_;

Conversely, the frustration of the statless Lv1 invisible shield being GLA/PLD only, and no equivalent for mages. Wands look nice, but shields are usually ugly.
