5.0 Rings

You don't have to do this retroactively SE, but for 5.0 could you separate the tome rings into Left and Right Rings. Edit: Or remove the Unique modifier as others in the thread have suggested.

It bugs me to no end that I have to run around with a un-upgraded ring on one finger.

If they were to actually do this, I would much prefer that they just remove the "Unique" identifier allowing you to have any number of the item, rather than making two separate items.

With that said, I don't actually care if they bother doing it.

But there's more than one source of rings in the game. If your concern is really about whether or not you have an un-upgraded ring on then get a second ring from elsewhere.

I'm still waiting for SB's version of proto-ultimate gear for the ring. Hopefully it will appear in part 2 of 4.5.

Currently the other "sources" is savage raid. Full stop.

I think the addition of Proto Ultima to Dun Scaith last expansion was the best way to help people who aren't doing savage to get a full set of fully upgraded gear, and would be in favor of that being a regular inclusion to the 24-man raids going forward. Not only does it give casual players the ability to hit that nice, even number on their gear item level, but it also let players who care really refine their stats by offering three options for each accessory slot.

Sorry, I meant the max ilvl of w/e the current patch is. I tend to just get all tome gear and then upgrade it when the 24 man raids come out.
