Suggestion: Allow Cross Party Trust

Hello,

I just wanted to offer a suggestion that I think would be exceptionally helpful to many players with limited time:

[Suggestion] Please allow parties of 1+ members to fill in their party gaps with the trust system. Player A and Player B would like to play together, but they still need 2 more players. Player A could use one of their trust members, and Player B could use one of their trust members to complete the party. Either this or Player A could use 2 trust members, or vice versa to fill out the party.

[Examples as to helpfulness] I believe this will be helpful to players due to the fact that many players may not have the time to invest in communities (FC/LS/FL/different timezones/different playtimes) / DF) to enjoy the game.

1. Players with children (babies) who do not want to hinder other players through DF due to long afk's / dropouts.
2. Small FCs
3. New players trying to catch up through old content (long que times), but with limited amounts of time to play
4. Players who play during offtimes vs their server.
5. Players who work and only have a couple hours a day to play.

[Reasons why this wouldn't hurt the game / community]

1. Players who use DF will continue to use DF; this is not a deterrent to those who have time to wait or are doing current content.
2. This only affects 4-8 player content; this would not have a huge impact on the game due to the variety of content that requires more than 8 players.
3. This wouldn't ruin any of the intended content (mechanics), players can already use the Squadron system and deal with mechanics in that manner, it wouldn't be much different.
4. This could bring in more players who otherwise would never play a MMO due to their schedule, which is more revenue for a more successful FFXIV = more content!
5. Keep players who would otherwise quit due to a change in their lives (babies, dating, work, school, etc).

This would continue to promote community as instead of solo'ing only, players could find and partner up with their friends / families / and members of the server community. Those with limited playtimes could ban together and maybe even get to stop using Trusts all together.

Overall, with the squadron system in place, and there still being time in to adjust the Trust system, I really think this could have an exceptionally positive impact on this game!

We don't even know how the trust system works and what kind of duties are included or excluded and what requirements have to be fullfilled to use the trust system.

Yes! I tried looking up more information, but from what I've gathered, solo'ing has only been mentioned. I figured, while there's still time BEFORE the expansion, this would be the best time to offer this suggestion. Otherwise, you know how busy the devs get with content. ;)

are you not in an FC where there are other people in similar real life situations like yourself? I would look for that first. then you won't have so much trouble i would think.

Could be cool, concerns if it's too good though - then you would see an affect on the party queue but not really a worry if they're "ee.h.. it works, lol". I don't really feel the squadron system did that but I say it for the trust system because at least personally I'm imagining they're going to make these MSQ characters more powerful and smarter than our squadron (I don't know for sure obviously lol). Alternatively I think maybe if you wait a certain amount of time to fill in a slot either in the dungeon or out (in queue) that the trust system might be able to volunteer up some members.

The trust system, as far as I know, is only planned for shadowbringer content - which imo is a missed opportunity.. I'd also love to see the companion, squadron, trust, and retainer systems see some unification. Why cant I bring my chocobo into dungeon content, or have a good ol day moment like in 1.0 with a companion (in 1.0 there was a companion system outside of chocobos). I can see differences like the trust system being more powerful but on cooldown (they're busy people), companion (1.0) and chocobo being a very customize-able on the fly squadron member but also a bit of a pain to level/upgrade lol, and squadron being the "it just works, alright, usually, they're okay - better than no one", and retainers could fit in at the 1.0 companion level or squadron+ (between squadron and trust in balance) but cost a bit more (retainer tokens).

So I think it would be neat, just have to make sure it's not too much haha :D.
