Ceremony of Eternal Bonding

Dumb question:

Are weapons exposed during the cutscenes/ceremony? I know you can disable their appearance when sheathed, but what if I wanted them showing (i.e. a rapier to present a more royal ceremony experience)? Can I just leave my weapon exposed for it?

Edit for clarity: I don't want my weapon unsheathed.... just visible.
