Final Eureka relic weapons look overwhelmingly disappointing

For a long, long grind as this Eureka content has been, the final stage of the weapons looks nothing of what an all-powerful weapon should look like.

What's going on with all these horrible fish-fins attached to them? Just because Hydatos ended up being the final Eureka zone it doesn't mean there has to be god-awful fish-fins attached to them.

These weapons doesn't look good, at all. They are as weak as Heavensward Awoken relic stage, or maybe Sharpened stage.

Honestly wish I could open a petition to make them model new weapons, and actually get something out of it.

If they actually don't get another form of specific glow/look they might be the sadest relic I've ever seen in a final fantasy game.

The only one I think I like is the Samurai one because it looks like a sword with an evil eye ball. The rest are garbage.

I think they look cool, I have no issue with them. I am still trying to finish my RDM weapon, I am am only currently level 54 in Hydatos though.

I do say some of the weapons look ok-ish, but the glow is just ugly, the anemos glow or the pyros flames were nice, but now, meh... 9/10 pppl dislike em, or like one specific job that they might not have the pagos weapon ready to even get it...

I think every relic has gotten increasingly more disappointing compared to the previous with the 2.0 relics still superior in originality at least for the classes that I've religiously gotten them for. Best WHM relic is still the 2.0 one to me (despite them rehashing the model for the crafted weapons. Bad move SE). Best SCH relic is also the 2.0 one. We never see anything like that model ever and the radial glow is just beautiful. SMN got an upgrade in 3.0 because the demon eye of the Apocalypse turned me off with the Mimesis actually looking like a Bahamut possessed book with wings. Also it's purple and I'm always here for more purple stuff.

And then finally 3.0's AST relic I fear will never be beat. That thing is amazing. Even its pre-lux version. Just actually unique and amazing.

But these...all of the glows look very generic. They remind me of the Sharpened Animas with no difference between them. Even the non-glowing models look too similar to one another. Relics are supposed to be unique to the class, but I guess maybe they did it on purpose in order to turn people off of it and do their raids I guess? Or maybe get us ready for not having a relic in the next expansion? I don't know.

Xiv gear and weapon aethestics have been trash for along time. I wasn't suprised

Most of the Weapon designs are actually really unique and have a very Amano-esque design quality to them. I think the biggest problem with most of the relics is the glow. The glow effect alone is interesting, but when paired with the weapons is just WAY to much. It just makes the weapon look so busy and is hard to look at for to long and hides the design of the weapon instead of enhancing it. There are a few exceptions like BLM and AST. The WHM Cane is very simple but it is still beautiful and fits the theme of WHM, while SAM is very ornate and different and reminds me of a weapon Firion or Terra would use. There are definitely some weapon designs that are just like... wtf... like BRD and DRK, but overall the weapon designs themselves are pretty interesting and are a nice change of pace from the overall aesthetic of weapons we usually see. It's just the damn glow that takes over the whole damn thing.

I must agree that the final reward in this long process is quite underwhelming.
