DirectX Fatal Error 110002

Hello, I have a Asus N550J, Every time I launch the game it will crash at character selection and proceed to crash every single time after. I have tried changing resolution changing drivers, fresh install of both OS and Drivers and the game. I have also did DDU to remove driver in safe mode and reinstall a new one. I have also tried DX9 and windowed screen. I can run the game with my Intel chip video card, but everytime I tried with GTX 850M in my laptop it crashes. When I open the laptop after a long time of closing, it runs straight into the game, but proceed to crash when any video setting is changed. It is better for me to remote into my Home computer and play the game than playing it on my laptop. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How long has this issue with the crash been occurring? You mention that the crash happens in windowed mode have you tried switching to borderless full screen or full screen? Also, please try doing a cleanboot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.

It has happened ever since the recent windows and ffxiv update. I have tried all the resolution and full screen borderless screen, I have also done cleanboot, so far nothing can help it runs.

Have you tried using system restore back to a point where it was still working?

I've found that the tiny background updates Windows oft does when you choose to shut down your PC are a very common source of weird XIV crashes, but they tend to eventually get addressed in a later update.

If they become too annoying for my tastes, I system restore then keep my PC in sleep mode instead of turning it off to prevent the auto-updates.

Could you provide a screen shot of the crash? Also disable any overlays and try changing the compatibility mode.

To change compatibility mode, right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7.

ive been having an issue like this myself lately. once while in a dungeon, the second time i had stepped away after an instance and i came back to "a fatal error has occured", clicked okay and my game closed itself. it's only been happening recently
