Pulsing sound when crafting

So this has finally bugged me to the point of making a post about it. While crafting there is a continuous pulsing sound that happens at regular intervals. It's the same sound you hear when the condition changes but it happens continuously throughout the craft. The glow animation that happens when the condition is good or excellent pulses at the same interval as the sound. I can't find any information online about it and no one in my FC pays enough attention while crafting to even have realized it was there. Most of the time the sound is drowned out by the music but it's still there.

My question is this; why? Why does it continuously play during the craft? Why play at regular intervals? If it only applies to the condition then why do you hear it continuously?

Any thoughts on the matter?

I figure it's just a sound to indicate our tools are powered up as appropriate then ignore it. As you said, it's usually drowned out by the music so unless I listen specifically for it I don't notice.

I never noticed it until one time I decided to craft in a quiet spot in the Black Shroud. I couldn't get 2 crafts in before it distracted me too much to continue. Normally it's fine but without the music drowning it out, it's a really strange, annoying, semi-random pulsing noise for no reason. I have no idea what the point of it is.
