Soken's Community Gift - Success...eventually!

Hey all

At the end of last year we attempted to rally you all to send us messages for Soken's birthday. You didn't disappoint and we received some heartwarming messages, screenshots and art work to make Soken happy. Unfortunately the book production company we used managed to make a giant cock up of our order. After arguing back and forth over whose mistake it was (they eventually admitted it), they were unable to reprint it within the time frame we needed. So we got a refund from them and went to a different company. They do less fancy options for the binding etc but we've used them in the past and their customer service is amazing and since we were super short on time, we decided this was the best way forward. In the end we put it to a poll on our facebook and twitter, whether to send the now late book to Soken in the mail, or to take it with us to Paris and give it to him in person. The majority voted for Paris so that's what we did! Once more we were unlucky and the queues for Soken were closed before we got there on every occasion, so big shout out to a certain SE friend who snuck us away to grab him alone. Soken has since wrote to us thanking us very much for the kind words.

Soken is cool like that and seems to love these types of gifts. I'm glad that you were able to give him the gift.

I'm actually quite terrified by the look of his "grin". I might have nightmares at night just remembering that.
