Shadowbringer trailer question

idk if anyone has brought this up yet, but at the end of the trailer when the WoL is fighting the angel could the place he is fighting in be a different version of Mor Dhona? I only bring it up because the crystals placed around the area look similar to the ones around the lake. Could be looking into it too much,but since the WoL was seen as the BRD/ARC job at the start it could just be a nod to the 1.0 opening video where they watch Midgarsormr destroy the airship over the lake in Mor Dhona. If it does end up actually being Mor Dhona tho it could open a lot possibilities as to where the story is going.

Just curious if anyone else noticed or had any thoughts on this.

Some people have theorized that the place was Mor Dhona, yes.

At this point I feel like the 4.5 MSQ part 2 is the only thing that will definitively clear up where the new zones are, though, since they've intentionally been very vague about where the expansion takes place.

We don't know. Yoshida and everyone else have kept very tight-lipped about when and where ShB is taking place, and we probably won't find out until Tokyo.

The trailer has thancred mentioning about changing the past.Miniflia is a younger age.The place you see thancred looks like possibly the first boss room in ampador keep.Mentions that the place has changed.
It looks like we're going back in time to undo the calamity by traveling back even further before the events that made it happen.

If that's the case, we should see some old zones "revamped" since the Calamity greatly changed the aspect of Mor Dhona and Coerthas.

A: Who knows? *laughs* I think you won't understand it until you see it with the MSQ. FFXIV's trailers are meant to be impressive, even if you don't really know what's going on. Existing players know the MSQ, so they have an idea of what's going on and can speculate how it connects to the next patches. However, I think there's also an aspect to it that you won't understand until you actually see the Shadowbringers MSQ. I'm also worried about whether Visual Works will finish it in time. The EU fan fest trailer was only completed the day before I left *laughs*

The West Shroud was also completely destroyed by a chunk of Dalamud.

The West Shroud is not actually destroyed, it's just never been made accessible in ARR (an early Gridanian ARR quest mentions about a Wood Wailer unit that had recently returned from patrol in the West Shroud, meaning it's at least intact). Presumedly it's closed off to outsiders to allow the forest to recover more, or something. The chunk of Dalamud you're referring to is actually in the North Shroud (it's where the Second Coil of Bahamut is located). Either way, that quest at least proves it's still intact.

You can see it in the distance in North Shroud. The entire area has been turned into a mountainous mass of corrupted crystal, and while it's partially accessible as per that quest and the Feast map, it's probably safe to assume that most of it beyond the border isn't.

You can also review the teaser for the Rak'Tika Greatwood and the segment of the trailer with the forest fire, they suggested it's the same place.

If you look closely you might conclude the trailer took a lot of artistic liberties in it's display of destruction or there might be something else going on, possibly with a time difference too.
