I've heard it said that you always pick a piece of gear with more "Strength" on it. Is that always true?

Which glove would a Dragoon be better off using? Is a 10 Strength difference that big?
Yes the higher the strength the better. At the end of the day it also matters what stat you like. The ilvl380 gives you 5 stats. You can also use the practice dummies to se difference in terms of damage.
This reminds me of when people told me to meld INT into BLU because that's it's main stat. :facepalm:
You will always have the best of your main stat you can have if you are up to date on your item level.
The only REAL question is about substats, which actually can be customized.

Determination > Direct Hit > Critical Hit > Skill Speed
Granted, I only pay attention to this when the option to choose is actually available to me.
Blood for Blood gives us a guaranteed crit on our Full Thrust every other rotation, and we have another blanket crit tool built into us. Determination increases base damage, I like that.
Skill Speed I would like to use, as that is technically a base damage increase by way of hitting more. However, it doesn't imapct your OGCDs to scale with your adjusted GCDs. This means that in order for your OGCDs to come up about when you need them to in your rotation, you would need enough Skill Speed to be able to use 15 GCDs within a Heavy Thrust refresh, which isn't possible, and our lowest end is enough to have 10 GCDs, You either do 10 or 15, nothing in between, as that's DPS loss.
Naturally, someone will tell me I'm wrong when it comes to topics like this anyways, but I believe this will serve you fine for the most part.
