Nothing spoilery there by today, media and these forums now have pics. I'm more interested in the shoe situation.

I mean, likely not. For an MMO, a majority of the female outfits in FFXIV are remarkably conservative. Most MMOs flaunt their female characters as glorified dress-up ogling dolls for lonely players, and make bank off it. Not FFXIV though.

That said, most are curious if the really nice butt on the spoiler character is an indication that the playable Viera race we're getting will also have rather gifted hind-quarters.

Most are casting doubt on it as it it looks like the characters model was lifted directly from their game; something Square has done in the past.

But it's nice to have hope.

I don't think so. that outfit just kind of goes along with that character. even in ff12 I don't remember there being too many openly visible butts besides her's

That model isn't a rip or lift. There's a few notable differences that point to it being created for this engine. Considering yoshi said that what we see would be the new race, it's pretty safe to expect that this is by and large what we are getting. Wouldn't expect that specific armor though, concept art points to us getting unique to 14, much more conservative racial gear. I could see them using the transparency thing for their Hempen set though.

Funny thing is when I saw Fran's model, I immediately thought that the old butt debate was going to reopen, lol.
