Enhanced GP Regeneration Buff?

So, the level 70 trait for DoL's can feel a bit underwhelming.

I was thinking, would it be unreasonable to buff it slightly?

As it is at the moment, it increases the base GP regeneration from 5 GP per 3 seconds up to a whopping 6 GP per 3 seconds, so long as you're currently on a level 70 DoL class and not currently engaged in gathering from a Mining/Botany node.

I would propose a buff to make the extra 1 GP per tick, be a global buff.

Meaning that, if you say, have a level 70+ Miner, you would now be getting 6 GP per 3 seconds, irregardless of what job you are currently using.

Thus, meaning that having all 3 DoL's at level 70+ would cause your passive regeneration to be a constant 8 GP per 3 seconds. Whether you're standing around as a Miner or a Warrior, you'll benefit from the extra GP per tick.

Of course, such a change wouldn't impact someone who's doing heavy gathering due to not being in affect when gathering from a node, so Cordials will still be important for farming (Or grinding Ephemeral nodes)

However, it would be a neat QoL buff to people who gather more sporadically, as well as make the trait feel a little more impactful for a capstone trait.

Not sure why you don't think a 20% increase to regen isn't significant or impactful. I definitely felt the difference, especially when using Patience II on FSH.

I don't think SE would implement your suggestion for a global regen trait since it would make leveling all 3 DOL jobs feel mandatory. Player who have chosen to do it are already at an advantage compared to those who only choose to level 1 or 2.

I think it should just be doubled, going from 5 a tick to 10, and 5 a gather to 10. That's Still not overpowered. Its a time sink in a game that keeps trying to minimize time sinks.
Even with 10 a tick/gather, you'd still be using cordials.

While I don't think a global stacking buff is the answer; I do agree that the level 70 trait is lacklustre, to say the least.
A 20% increase sounds amazing on paper, however the actual maths just doesn't quite show it off.
The maths works out that for 771GP, i would have to stop gathering for 6 1/2 minutes to refill my GP, instead of the 7 3/4 minutes without the buff. With that kind of wait time, an extra 75 seconds makes no difference to me, because im either AFK or tabbed out.

While the buff is obviously better than nothing and it's nice to have, it certainly is not what i would expect the top gathering trait to be.

Agreed on fishing, but for the most part I'm with AngelHunter on this.

Adding 20% to a small number is still a small number. Sure every little bit helps, but most of the time it doesn't help in a very meaningful way. Certainly not what you'd expect from a level cap trait. For MIN/BOT the minute saved doesn't mean all that much.

For me, it means I don't need to use Cordials anymore in-between timed nodes. The 20% GP regeneration fits nicely into the 2 hour wait time to just about refill my GP. That's a nice little bonus.

What I would agree with however, is if the trait worked while you were on a different class. For example if you switch crafter in-between a timed node and bang out a few ingots while you wait, you're down to 5 GP per tick again. Also you should at least get 6 gp per gather instead of the default 5.

Apart from that I'm ok with the trait. Anything too ridiculous would make cordials pointless. At 10 per tick, I'd only ever use Cordials for very heavy Ephemeral Node gathering.

I agree that the overall implication of the ability is underwhelming but acknowledge that any meaningful improvement would change the current Meta of GP as a whole. I would personally prefer a complete change of the ability.

Instead of a out of "combat" regen buff I think a cordial like ability that grants a refill either wholly restoring GP with a long 3 to 4 min cooldown (still much faster than waiting around), or set amount like X% or 200 - 400 GP with a cooldown similar to cordials but still separate would be better. An extra kicker but maybe to OP would be the ability to use it while on a node unlike cordials. This would change rotations and the like as it would be like have X amount more GP on the more urgent nodes like ephemeral or unspoiled.

This would allow anyone that grinds lv 70 to go back and take a more relaxed approach to high end nodes and collectibles while giving min-maxers a new tool to debate the use of. Furthering the games seeming efforts to streamline the game for newer or frustrated players.

I personally don't see a problem with increased GP regeneration. Add an ability, increase the base, increase the trait. The only functional purpose it has, is to put a time limit on how fast you can collect things.
Part of it is an Anti-RMT measure, i get that. But i think if you get to 70, get above a certain item level, or do a quest, something that takes a little extra time that a dedicated player wouldn't mind doing, but someone grinding up an account just to harvest bot wouldn't want to take the time to do.

Maybe we'll see an improvement at 80, but i don't see a Real problem with restoring a portion of GP after a harvesting session. Fishing is different since you can fish in one location for significantly longer than you can a single gathering point.

Say restore 25 per successful harvest attempt, so a normal node you'd get 100 back, a 6 harvest node would net you 150 back if you were successful all 6 times.
Cordials would still get plenty of use, but they are market prohibited anyway, so that's not going to interfere too much.

Heck, it could even be a charged ability. You build up "stacks" similar to how SE did Scholar's Sublimation in XI, and you can Activate the ability to restore GP. It could be on a 5 min timer or something.

But right, its just a somewhat needless time sink.
