Toggle actions.

Been playing Dragon age: Origins and Dragon age 2 since the servers are down, Some skills can be toggled on/off.

So I was thinking can a similar system work in FFXIV?

Abilities like:
"Guard"
"Feather Foot"
"Foresight"
"Speed Surge"
"Profundity"
"Dark Seal"

When these abilities are active they are in an "always on" state but the trade off is a reduction to available stamina.

Of course the skills would have to be tweaked a bit for balance reasons.

I was just thinking how much I hated while playing gladiator when "your shield arm drops" and you scramble to put it back up.

Some of you might be thinking it's dumbing the system down, but it can also be viewed as tactical because depending on what you have active and when really could potentially reduce your available stamina for attacks, it's a give and take system.

Any constructive thoughts?

Buffs and battle stances, basically? I don't have an amazing knowledge of all the skills, but personally, I'd rather have to keep track of some of my skills, just so I feel 'engaged.' You've always got to remember to keep your shield up, or to watch your opponent's movement in a real fight!
