Question from a noob
Hi,
3 years ago, I made a character. Since I came back this month, I decided it was best to start another character, which I am leveling and enjoying. My first toon has quite a lot of Gil (lot for me) Is it against the rules to put up an item on the board for XXXXXXXXX thousand Gil, then buy it with old Character? It is the only way I can think of to transfer the Gil.
Thank you,
I apologize if this has been asked earlier.

I wouldn't do it that way, you'd lose some of your gill in "taxes", I would say find someone you can trust and have them hold onto it for a minute while you switch characters.
Also your scheme reminded me of a common RMT tactic used in WoW; so bast to stay clear of that.

Not the most efficient means of transferring the gil, but shouldn't be against any rules.

Also if you are a member of an FC get temporary permission for the 1 character to deposit the Gil into the chest and then have your character withdrawl the same amount.

Unless you have to transfer tens of million Gil, yep you can sell on market something at the price your old character have in Gil then buy it.
Fee is usually 5% but depending regional settings it may be lower, as example in Foundation's market a while ago it was 3%.
