I finally levelled all my gatherers to 70 and was looking into the best gearset until I realized there might be new gear next 2 weeks. I have nearly 2000 yellow scrips so I wonder if I should just work on that landking set or just save it all for then? I know DoL gets an update of some kind what with a new custom delivery NPC.
Currently they are all still in the augmented 60 blue set... all I know is gathering is what I want to focus on right when shadowbringers drops(it's turned into my favorite content lol) so I definitely want to have great gear before then.
Should I just wait for 4.5 for new gear?

It's funny, on 12-14-18 I posted in the "land" forums staying that it's just to expensive to buy decent gear so I just had to get over it and start the slow grind to get the 350 blue gear. It is now 1-14-19 and today I just bought the last off hand blue, so guess you guys were right one month isn't to bad. I was looking at this site. and when you click on the "Nightsteel Pickaxe" Meld section and you choose +15 for the first meld it say's 100% yet when you press +15 for the second it says 17% what does that mean?
Also what meld combo do you guys/gals use?

That's the % chance you have to succeed at slotting that materia. Each piece of gear has a number of "guaranteed" materia slots. After those are filled, the rest have only a chance to go in.
If the materia fails to go in, the materia is destroyed in the process. The more materia you put in, the lower the chance becomes. Also higher grade materia will have a lower chance to go in as well. Each piece of gear can have a max of 5 materia attached (hence the term "pentamelded"). So the goal is to get as much stats as you can within those 5 available slots. The stats you're able to obtain through melding largely depends on how much materia you're willing to lose (or rather how much money you're willing to lose).
This is a type of melding that is exclusive to crafted gear (known as advanced melding, or forbidden melding. Commonly referred to as over-melding by the community), and usually allows you to exceed the amount of stats provided by yellow scrip gear, if you're willing to put in the investment. -

I'm at G 1639, P 1583 and 797 GPs before food. 4 pieces still have an open meld slot.
