8 "Quality of Life" Changes! (Auto Face, Chocobo Interaction, Party List, Chat Box)

*Automatically Face Target When Using Action: Setting Changes*

Make it where if you use an action that's out of range, to not auto face the enemy until the action is in range to use.
Also, make it where if you auto face while in range but want to move away from the target, your character won't accidentally move towards the target when trying to use an action. (This has gotten me killed more times than it should. When I want to dodge an aoe, but because I kept clicking my actions, my character wanted to move toward the target, and not away. I should be able to auto face without moving towards the target, while trying to move away from it)


*Chocobo Interaction Changes*

Make it where you're able to click and talk to NPC's while staying on your mount.
Also, make it where if you're on a mount and you want to attack an enemy in action range, to be able to automatically jump off of the mount when an action is used. (Only while in range though, depending on the action that's being clicked on)


*Party List Changes*

Make it where you're able to disable the "Search Info" box that appears when you right click a player in the party list. Not only to disable it altogether, but also to have a 2nd option to have it disabled only during battles. (Personal choice really)
Also, make it where you're able to click on a player in the party list even if your mouse cursor is hovering over the debuff/buff icons, because the icons are not clickable. (Since I manually click on players through the party list with my mouse cursor, to switch between healing and dps'ing as a healer, I find both of these things personally problematic)


*Chat Box Changes*

Make it where you can lock the chat box in place, so you're not able to accidentally move the chat box from its original position when clicking on the "General" chat tab.
And please give us 8 (If not, then 6) chat tabs to use. Only being able to use 4 chat tabs isn't enough for me personally. I'd like to have one for PM's only, LS's only, online/offline FC members only, and say/yell/shout only. (The 4 chat tabs I use at the moment are a mix of everything, except for FC chat and battle information. Way too cluttered still for my taste)


P.S. Another thing I thought of for the Party List Changes... If you were able to disable the "Search Info" box, then maybe you could right click through the party list to grab onto the camera instead? Because I don't play with legacy movement, I'm usually playing with the right mouse button held down to hold onto the camera in order to move around with the wasd keys. This would definitely help those who don't like the legacy movement, and wouldn't want to be forced to use it when playing as a healer to avoid that problem. (Of course, a few of these QoL's relate more to keyboard/mouse use, because controller users will never run into these specific issues. Or a certain play style is needed to understand the QoL changes)

I second the chat box change. It'd be nice to be able to have more tabs to separate things. Especially when I want to keep an eye on my retainers.

I've never had an issue with the auto-facing, but I play on a controller, so maybe it's not an issue for us? I'm not sure.

Talking to an NPC while mounted would be nice. I'd welcome that change.

I agree with more chat tabs. I'd love to be able to filter out the NN and my Hunt linkshells from my other chats and just have them completely separate from things like general, party/alliance, and FC/other LS.

I wonder why you want to hide the Search Info option though? Is there a particular reason for this?

For the healing thing, you can do mouseover macros for certain healing spells, where you don't have to click but can hover over a person in your party list instead. I've heard that's less clunky.

Controllers can have auto facing issues, you just have to enable "automatically face target when using action" in your settings lol.
And also being able to attack enemies by auto jumping off of your mount when in range. :)
I would figure they could add 4 more chat tabs to make it a total of 8. Just have 4 more underneath the 4 tabs we have atm, would make sense. 8 would be enough for me.
I want to hide the "Search Info" box bc usually when I'm healing, since I click between players with my mouse cursor in the party list, I'll sometimes right mouse click to try and grab my camera to move it around and instead I'll do it while hovering over the party list, making the "Search Info" box pop up, ultimately getting in the way for me to heal or anything until I cancel it lol. Or it'll just pop up when I accidentally hit it somehow, it doesn't happen all of the time, but it's still an annoyance. Especially in life and death situations. Same goes with being able to click on a player when my mouse cursor is hovering over the debuff/buff icons in the party list, since they aren't clickable in the party list, it can get in the way of me trying to click on someone to try and heal them or whatever. (Idk why other people have a hard time seeing these problems, you can test it out yourself in-game, but it's probably bc they play with a controller or use the keyboard/mouse differently. I'm speaking more of a certain keyboard/mouse play style)
I know I can make macros for certain things, but the idea that any of these things can get in the way of my play style shows that they are an inconvenience no matter. They shouldn't be happening, ever. But because they can and do happen, they need to be fixed. That's the whole point of QoL's, they don't have to be something that everyone will want, but for those who do, it obviously makes our quality of life better. :P I know I'm not the only one who has ran into these issues... Certain people on Reddit just couldn't understand most of my QoL changes and so they downvoted and wrote comments just telling me to play differently, which isn't the point of QoL's at all. You shouldn't have to adjust in a certain way just to try and avoid something that could just be fixed. :( lol
