Announcing the Starlight Scenarios Comic Contest! (NA)

Winter has cascaded across Eorzea, bringing with it snowfall and starlight! Gather in the company of your loved ones, share some hot cocoa and celebrate the season of kindness and giving.

We challenge you to spread joy this Starlight Celebration by creating your very own Starlight Scenario! Curate a few screenshots for a brief holiday comic and show us what this season means to you and yours.

Theme:
Showcase how you celebrate the Starlight Celebration via a series of screenshots using comic book-style storytelling.

Entry Period:
Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. to Friday, January 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. (Pacific Time)

How to Enter:
Submit your entry by posting in the OFFICIAL ENTRY THREAD.
You can practice submitting your entry in the practice/discussion thread.

Please review and follow this guide to uploading images to the Lodestone and posting the image on the forum.

Be sure to include the following information in your submission:
At least 4 screenshots minimum (6 screenshots maximum) depicting you and your companions enjoying the Starlight Celebration in a comic book style!

Each entry may include accompanying text/story.
Screenshots may be edited to include text bubbles or subtitles.

Screenshots may be accompanied by captions under the images should the entrant not wish to edit the screenshots.

Entries without text/captions will be accepted as well.

Group Pose may be used to enhance screenshots.

Your selection from the available in-game prizes.
Prizes will be delivered to the character on the entrant’s forum handle. Only the entrant who submits the entry is eligible to receive a prize.
If users appearing in another user's entry wish to enter the contest, they must submit their own original entry.

You must abide by the following rules and guidelines when creating and submitting your entry:
One (1) entry per person. If multiple entries submitted by under the same entrant handle are posted, only the first entry submitted will be considered.

Entries cannot be edited after submission.

Entries must be your own screenshot.

You must read, agree to, and comply with the Official Rules below.

Winner Selection:
The FINAL FANTASY XIV Community Team will select fifty (50) winners based on quality, creativity, originality, and overall execution according to the criteria listed above.

The 50 winners will each receive one in-game item of his/her choice from the items below:

You must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or Canada (excluding Quebec), have a valid North American Square Enix Account, and be over the age of 13 to enter.

STARLIGHT SCENARIOS COMIC CONTEST (THE “PROMOTION”) OFFICIAL RULES

KEY RULES

A. Official Rules: The Official Rules for this Promotion consist of both (i) these key rules summarizing the important rules for participating in the Promotion (the “Key Rules”) and (ii) the Additional Promotion Official Rules (“Additional Rules”) applicable to your place of legal residence. B. Territories: This Promotion is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry (the “Promotion Jurisdiction”):
The fifty (50) states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

Canada (excluding Quebec).

C. Age Limit: This Promotion is open only to individuals 13 years of age or older at the date and time of entry.

D. Entry Period: You may enter the Promotion only between Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. PT and Friday, January 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. PT (the “Entry Period”).

E. Entry Procedure and Limitations: In order to enter the Promotion, you must complete the following steps during the Entry Period:

Step One:
Take screenshots depicting your Final Fantasy XIV character and in-game companions enjoying the Starlight Celebration in a comic book style!

Each entry (“Entry”) must contain a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of six (6) such screenshots.

Each entry may feature descriptive text and/or storytelling. Accordingly, Entry screenshots may be edited to include text bubbles and/or subtitles. Alternatively, Entry screenshots may be accompanied by captions under the images if the entrant does not wish to edit the screenshots. For avoidance of doubt, screenshots do not require text and/or captions to be eligible for Entry.

Entry screenshots may include the use of the group pose feature.

Each screenshot may only be submitted for consideration one (1) time and all duplicate submissions of the same Entry screenshot shall be void.

Step Two:

Submit your Entry by in the OFFICIAL ENTRY THREAD on the Final Fantasy XIV forums and include the following information in your forum post:

You must not include any additional personal information in your Entry.

Entries may not be edited after submission.

Additional Entry Limitations:
One (1) Entry per person. If multiple Entries submitted by the same entrant are posted, only the first Entry submitted will be considered.

One (1) Entry per screenshot. If a character appearing in another user's Entry screenshot wishes to enter the Promotion, such character must submit their own original screenshot for consideration to be eligible.

F. Winner Selection: The Sponsor (listed below), or Sponsor’s designee, shall select fifty (50) winners from among all entries using the following methodology:

Quality of storytelling

Technical quality

Creativity

Originality

Artistic elements

Execution of the Promotion theme

G. Prize(s): Each winner shall receive one (1) of the following prizes of their choosing:
One (1) Gaelicap (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)

One (1) Noble Barding (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)

One (1) Mandragora Choker (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)

Please note: Prizes will be delivered to the character on the winner’s relevant Final Fantasy XIV official forum handle.

H. Winner Notification: Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, will notify winner(s) by or about January 18, 2019 via email and/or forum post. The aforementioned notification post shall appear, if at all, within the Starlight Scenarios section of the Final Fantasy XIV forums.

I. Sponsor: The sponsor of this Promotion is Square Enix, Inc.

By entering the Promotion, you agree to be bound and abide by these Key Rules and the Additional Rules applicable to your place of legal residence, and you represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements to enter the Promotion.
