Deleting and transferring same name characters

Hello,

I am planning on transferring a character to a different world/server, but I have the same character already made on the new world (same name, which would ordinarily force me to change my transferred character's name).

If I were to delete the character on the new world, how long would it take before the name becomes 'available' again, so I might transfer before another person reclaims the name?

As far as I know, right away.
I could be wrong but I've never heard anything to the contrary.

I would imagine, at the most, 72 hours? There's a limit on transferring characters for 72 hours for a reason, I suspect.
