4.5 New DC and Server transfers

Hello,
i'm curious to the outcome of the new Data centers being added in 4.5 as i'm wanting to move to EU servers (odin) after the new year from NA (leviathan), will i be eligible for a free transfer as my server isn't being moved to the new NA DC or will i have to pay.
i was originally going to move after the new year but if it means waiting a few weeks till 4.5 drops then i will.
i just want to make sure that either i will be eligible for a free transfer from NA to EU or i won't.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I want to know if I can transfer to a different server on the SAME data center and still get compensated. that way I can get farther away from certain bad apples on my server yet not be seperated from my cross world static which is staying on crystal.

Well, they stated transfers will be free for about two weeks at some point, with only a three day limitation on moving multiple times. That means, you can move to any world on any DC because transfers have no limitation to where you want to go, they only have a default three day wait time to transfer again, and they already said it will allow as many transfers as you want or need, within a two week period, so if you move and don't like it or need to move again, you can, but you have to factor in the three day wait before you can transfer a second or third time.
However, if you decide to move to a preferred world, as it is now you are stuck for 90 days, which they failed to mention, or a new world, has this limitation in place as well, unless they remove this limitation before hand.
I just checked in case they updated the World Transfer page and it states

- Characters created on a New World
- Characters transferred from a Congested World to a Preferred World
- Characters created on a Preferred World

So you wont be able to transfer to a congested world (world wont show in list to select as destination world), and its only if you move from a congested world to preferred, that you will get a 90 day wait, though this may change , but that's how it is right now.

Are the free server transfers coming on the first part or second part of 4.5? I assumed the latter based on what they said here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/379384

We don't know yet.

I wish free transfers would be free for everyone during the two weeks. It sucks for people that wish to transfer to be with their friends or statics but not directly affected by the server move that they have to pay.

It sure was nice of SE to drop this bombshell at fanfest and then seemingly follow up with no additional information for the rest of the year... The uncertainty makes it all the better, thanks SE.

It's not like they aren't going to tell us eventually. For all we know they are still working out the logistics of it. Personally, I would rather be given a heads up about a huge change when it's a long way off and have to wait to find out the minutiae than have it dumped on me, details and all, on much shorter notice.
