is there anyway to set it so that hold r2 and tap r1 to cycle thru party instead of haveing to release trigger and use dpad is just anoying as a healer haveing to constantly release triggers to switch target then hit trigger in a fast fight just costs alot of time and frustration if don't get trigger all the way released you fire off ablites you have maped to dpad just seems very dumb way to do controler layout and hard locking tab targeting to just enemies
I don't know about that but I do know some people use target of target macros.
Macros are really your best bet if you want to avoid that, though since they can be unreliable, it would be best with manual controls. You are still stuck releasing the trigger to select your targets if you have to do manual target selection.
You can, according to a guide I found, though I haven't tested it myself. Try combining it with filters maybe?
"L1&R1
Normally, L1 allows you to change your targeting filter if you have those enabled, and R1 changes your selected cross hotbar. However, if you have L2 or R2 held down, L1 and R1 will instead cycle through targets. This method yields a hard target.
Like the d-pad left and right method, L1/R1 will cycle only through enemy targets that are currently on your screen. It will also do so in a vaguely left-to-right pattern with no consideration for depth."

Edit: Seem's you can't do it while holding in R2/L2, but try the filtering method instead.
