internet routes after the maintenance

I play on Sargatanas, where I always enjoyed pretty good pings. (NA) I also play on Anima, (JP) where I used to have not much trouble, but in recent months it's been pretty dodgy with high latency and DCs ruining dungeon runs.
I notice after the last maintenance that the route has changed for Anima, instead of going through Akamai's DDOS filter it is now going through NTT before the hop to Japan. Where I was getting 290 pings before I now get 130 pings to the Japan server. Play is pretty smooth now, so I wonder if some "stuff" has been happening in the background.
Hopefully the EU issues have been resolved as well.
