The Masked Carnival

So... Can every job get a version of the masked carnival in 5.0 to get and progress their relic?

If we have to have limited jobs might as well get something useful out of them. And I'd rather not see another expansion with Eureka in it so... yea.

Something akin to the Maat fight for relics? I'd be okay with that.

They already had their version, it was called the Relic Reborn quests The Chimera and The Hydra in addition to coffer hunting. The entire world was your carnivale.

Carnivale is not for a weapon, the majority of their toolkit will be acquired there. One job getting a big unique content like this is intensive. If you go back and do that for every job the workload increases.

Do you want to start questing all your skills with RNG acquisition for Monk or Scholar?

Quite frankly: I missed fights like Chimera and Hydra in later relic quests, aka: fights that were designed for the relic quest specifically. Aswell (if not more!) fights like the orginal HMs of primals. Special the later ones actually required you to know what you're doing and how to properly play the job you were trying to get the relic for - yes, yes, you could still get carried (I most certainly did for jobs that I have no clue how to play like dragoon and monk...) but you had to prove that you were worthy of the relic!
With HW and even more so with SB the whole quest turned into nothing more than a grind - one that I could tolerate in HW and one that I despise in SB (not touching Eureka after trying to get some progress in Pagos).

But what I always wanted was the relic quest to be at least mildly challenging - yes, yes, the weapon locked behing the challenge is the raid-weapon. And thats fair! But I recall looking at people who had their relic in ARR and going like "Oh, this person managed to heal Titan HM! I can trust that they know what they're doing!" and I'd like to have that back.
I'd like to see some trials/instances/challenges again that require people who want to get a specific relic to not only play that job, but also to prove that they know how to do that - it doesnt has to be as massive as The Maked Carnival is probably going to be and it doesnt has to be the only element within the relic-quest and I wouldnt mind if all healers shared one, all tanks one, ranged one... and so on. I'd just really like to see some sort of slight (solo) challenge again that required to obtain a relic.
Having to press all of your buttons isnt a bad thing, but one that you should be doing anyways all the time.
