Stat descriptions are wrong.

A few of the main stat descriptions in game are incorrect and misleading. I feel they're a bit of a newbie trap, especially after seeing fresh 70's with useless materia melded all over their gear.
Also, it just irritates me that they're wrong. Feels like someone just forgot to update them properly after Heavensward.



First up, intelligence.

It does not affect magic damage as tank or DPS role, it affects it as caster role, that's it.
Holy Spirit scales with strength, everything Dark Knight does scales with strength, Ninja's magic attacks scale with dexterity. Might be more I'm missing, point is, it improves caster damage and that's it.



Second, mind.

Nope, again, Clemency scales with strength. The only heal that scales with mind regardless of job or role is physick. Everything else scales with your jobs main stat.



Lastly, dexterity.

It does not, like it implies, affect all ranged physical damage. This one probably isn't as likely to catch people out. Only case I can think of is shield lob, tomahawk and piercing talon, which are ranged, and physical, but scale with strength.




And that's it, vitality is fine, strength is also technically correct. It's kind of weird that it mentions everyone, but auto's do scale with strength so whatever, it's not wrong at least.

These are all big gripes of mine too.


They could just cut out all the primary stats except Vitality and replace them with one homogenized DBZ-esque "Power Level" stat and ultimately nothing would change.

Technically, they could also fuse Spellspeed and Skillspeed into "Speed", replace Determination and even Direct Hit (Since, AFAIK, nothing proc of it) with an increase in Power and replace Tenacity with a slight increase in Power and Defense/Magic Defense.

The single 'power' stat is what I would prefer, but in the interim they could at least make the descriptions accurate :)
