Can you sum it up? What's the thing about blue mage? Are they like level capped at 50 or something?
Thanks! Much appreciated!
Blue Mages will start at level 1, and get increased experience from monsters in the overworld. They will have 49 abilities to learn from monsters (24 which can be equipped at any time) and have a unique arena they can enter called the Masked Carnival. Their level cap is 50 for 4.5, but this may be increased in the future.
Blue Mage cannot queue into any party duty unless it is in a pre-made party. I do not believe it can engage in PvP either. It has been heavily implied that Blue Mage will be increased at a different level rate so that it actually never will be able to experience new content with other "normal" jobs, and will rely primarily on overworld monster hunting and the Masked Carnival.
Many liken this to feeling as though Blue Mage isn't an actual job, but a mini-game side content type thing that rehashes old content. As one user put it, "this is just a gathering class in a magic robe".
BLU isn't a minigame, its just people trying to give it a misleading and inaccurate label. BLU is no more of a minigame than AST cards or MCH rng procs
Spoiler for large images:
Not featured here is that it starts at level one and is capped at lv 50. It is locked to only ARR content and premade groups. In short, yes it is just a minigame.
