The new race is dwarf

I don't know how y'all could miss that. There's no way we're getting dwarves as anything but a playable race. That shirt was a diversion. The real announcement slipped by.

The t-shirt was a reveal for a new job, perhaps beastmaster or some hunter-type job. the Viera is a red herring. We'll need weapons to fight the Garleans and who forge the best weapons? Dwarves.

But I reckon we'll meet them once we pass through The Burn. If you follow the world map, North of the Burn, which is accessible once you've passed through it are some grey mountains, which I bet has one called Mount Duergar, as a reference to FF1, where the dwarves live. Once the Warrior of Light goes through the burn, they will need respite, so it make sense to have a settlement placed there. You may be onto something here.

They literally mentinoed dwarves as one of the new races you would encounter in the expansion areas alongside pixies, which makes it rather likely that they will be just an npc race like the lupin.

Dwarves live underground. Bugs Bunny lives underground. Checkmate, Viera lovers.

Also, the first new area looks exactly like Viera domain!
