For the love of the Twelve SE, please up the drop rate on /shiver!

What the title says.
I'm not sure if this is true or not but apparently the drop rate on the "Insufficient Petticoats" book is at/less than 1%, and at this point it's certainly starting to feel like it!
I get wanting to incentivize people into doing content that they otherwise wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole (and I'll be dammed if I said it wasn't an effective strategy; it got me to grind through that godsforesaken zone after all) but locking something behind this kind of RNG-ception is ridiculous.
I've heard horror stories of people trying for months just to get the emote, and though I haven't been working nearly as long, I don't want it to turn into that. It would be one thing if you were able to exchange a certain number of cold-warped lockboxes for the book - because then there would be a definitive end to the madness. But no.

What makes the farm so painful is the uncertainty.You have to fight a mob for a chance for it to mutate so you might get a box which may (but most likely will not) contain the emote. There's no telling when or even if you'll get it.

Sure, I could just buy it off the MB. But I'm sure mine isn't the only server where it's selling for 40 million gil or above with only a small handful of listings. You could buy a large house with that kind of money.

SE please, increase the drop rate of /shiver or something. What's the point of having an emote if it's nearly impossible to get?

Indeed, it is true. The Shiver emote drop rate has been estimated at approxiamtely 0.2%

Your best bet is to wait until the inevitable PotD re-skin releases in 5.x. They will likely shove it in there like they did the Hunting Hawk and all the old Primal minions.

And for the love of all that's good clean and neatly folded, do the same with the Gyr Abanian Plait from HoH silver-trimmed sacks.

Nahh. Leave it the way it is. You don't have to have every item in the game easily available to you. If you don't like the rng then buy it. This game needs more items that only a select few have access to.

There's way better ways to make things harder to obtain than locking it behind a truckload of RNG inside RNG inside RNG.

I don't see anything wrong with it being difficult to obtain. You don't need to have everything you want.

Assuming this isn't bait luck and RNG only make things artificially difficult. I wouldn't mind farming and working for it as much if I knew I could get it after a certain amount of time like primal totems and their mounts, and, oh yeah - the freaking Eureka weapons in general. Not knowing whether it will be hours, days, or months before it will drop is just painful.
Furthermore, simply buying it only works if, buy the time I've saved up and am desperate enough to do so, there are even listings up to begin with.
And why the hell should a dorky emote of all things be exclusive to a select few when items given that distinction are generally given as a sign of skill and not luck?

They have those already in the form of Savage and Ulimate achievements, weapons, mounts, and gear. Those are far more prestigious than an RNG emote that shows nothing other than you got lucky. Luck isn’t prestigious.

It’s difficult to even buy an emote when its drop rate is probably lower than UwU’s clear rate.
Shiver is 30~40 million on my server, and we’re fairly high-pop.

I understand prestige for things like titles, mounts, and weapons. But for emotes? No, thanks. That’s just silly. RNG luck isn’t nearly the same as prestige that is earned via skill.
