Getting some fierce lag tonight in Alphascape. Are we being DDoS'd again?
I would cast one Medica and then wait nearly 30secs to a minute before everything would catch up.
Kudos to the other healer in my pt though. Despite all the lag and death, they managed to get us through V3.0 with me and a RDM being lagged out and dead 99% of the fight (and a one-shot no less).
Oh I thought it was just me! I was having lag in Eureka (none of my actions were registering) so I left, thinking maybe it was the instance. But it was still bad when I tried to open all of my lockboxes, it kept lagging in between each one. I really thought I was going to 90k each time it stopped.
Well the only thing I have to go on is the problem that has persisted all of Stormblood. Some people, myself included, get sent on a route through NTT (their ISP) and my latency shoots up by 100-120 often during primetime, sometimes even with packet loss. If that's what is affecting everyone else then sorry to say the only way around this is to use a VPN. It's not something Square Enix can/will fix because like I said it's been there all expansion.
They basically say "nothing wrong with our data center so oh well".
Its definitely not isolated to just in-game as even the forums and Lodestone are now taking an age to load for me. I'm assuming its DDoS. Or the free login campaign is putting extra stress on the servers?
I know its not me as other webpages aren't taking ages to load. Just the forums and Lodestone.
There is a maintenance tomorrow so I'm guessing thats to address it. I didn't experience any severe lag but just be careful if someone dc's during the raid. You will lose a chest if you clear it with them still dc. I was hoping the maintenance would address the abysmal gold chest bunny drop rates and the insane RNG on the relic substats but one could hope.
I was getting that earlier myself in dungeons. Good to know I'm not the only one suffering.
I only get huge lag spikes and disconnects in Eureka. Can play hours outside it and never get any type of lag but enter it and 3 minutes into in dc 2 times.
Had the same issue in the alliance raid "World of Darkness" with Angra Mainyu. I died two times - once because somehow "Mortal Gaze" wasn't showing up and I fell probably because of doom. The second one was where "Double Vision" was cast 1/3 sec. shorter than usual. Yup, lag spikes at its finest :/
We had several people disconnecting in Eureka today, particularly in high traffic areas like NM battles and Bunny FATEs. I also had trouble checking the Lodestone earlier, but I assumed that was just due to maintenance.
