What's wrong with the battle system?

Not a troll thread, or not trying to be anyways. I'm having fun wailing on stuff in this game, but I keep reading posts where people say it needs to be fixed, or it's boring or they don't like it etc. I'd just like to know, if you are one of those people, what specifically don't you like about it?

Maybe I haven't played long enough to fully experience it, or am not thinking about it in the right way.

imo, that doesn't sound that bad.

I'm a DoL not a DoW. So I have no idea. I just whack away at mobs.

The battle system itself is alright, but I personally dislike the UI (bar) that we have now. Then again I dislike the bar in all MMORPGs. Also I believe that in our current system some jobs are heavily favored more than others. There is also a huge lack in abilities/magic/weapon skills for all jobs. Of course more will be added later but we often find ourselves using the same combos over and over, so it gets boring after awhile.

This of course, is how I feel about it. I can't speak for others.

I have a lot of fun with the battle system and especially combos. Of course it could use some tweaks and refining but it's a solid base.

i guess the fact that it is not finished may be notable

right now the battle system is incomplete without the addition of actual jobs to take advantage of it. Also the servers hold back the DoW experience greatly, I absolutely hate the fact that I can't use Flash/Provoke/WS because it simply "cannot be used" for no apparent reason.

its not just jobs. they said they are adding skills to mages, they are still tweaking the current system. they have to replace the bat reg system.

yeah, almost seems never-ending when it comes to the new system. I'm looking forward to some change though.

This... I do hope the finished direction makes more use of Incaps being either necessary or at the very least important for NMs. Even giving multiple different Incaps or special conditions/objectives per fight
The Battle Regimen that comes back is in depth and fun, requires some skill and is necessary to kill certain NMs
I want to see Slashing, Piercing and Blunt matter... or maybe they do, in which case I want to see them matter more

So its not just the finished battle system I am looking forward to... Its the actual battles... It takes both to make fun, engaging battles
