English/Oceanic Server?
Thought I'd poke the forums for this, across the board worldwise, has anyone or a large number of people decided which is an english server come world merge times?
Dont get me wrong, I'm not against other languages, it just poses a bit of a barrier when it comes to making friendships if they cant speak your language or you theirs. That and I'm an aussie so if theres even a slight chance itd be nice to be on a server in which things are organised around my timezone.
Kinda sucks only being able to do ifrit once a week because the server is dead (at least in terms of english speaking players) in my evenings and mornings.
If not an oceanic server, just english primary would be solid for the sake of communication.

I have a feeling that theres not enough people to warrant an Oceanic server...sucks, being in Australia myself.

I thought Gyshal was the unofficial oceanic server? I'm on Fabul and in my linkshell (Counting Sheep) I am the only Aussie so far. We have 1 NZ and 1 other in my time zone. Me personally, I don't have any problems finding people to party with. My Ls has a good number of people Spread out over a different couple of timezones so its not much of a bother.
I guess it must be hard to organise unofficial servers in the first place so i hope you end up on the right one.
Me? I go where the flock goes. Even if it means I dont end up on the unofficial Oceanic/ Australian server.

I'm thankful that i'm fairly nocturnal for a person as I live in Australia and love MMORPGS.

That makes five of us. :)
I was also of the understanding that Gyshal was the unofficial Oceanic server and a number of people on this forum have touted this from time to time.
It may be worthwhile moving to Masamune (Gyshal + Wutai) when the worlds merge.

Thats... kind of dissapointing, at least on the oceanic front. Cause I am already on Gyashal >.>
I dont have trouble getting groups during the day, but I kinda have to be at Uni during the weekdays D:

Yes Gysahl was/is unofficial Oceanic server.
From brief talkings with some Wutai players there looks to be a decently sized English community forming too.
Gysahl is heavily JP though.

Gysahl is still the unofficial Aussie server. The problem is that most of the people who are playing, have been playing since beta and we mostly don't need to /shout for a pt outside the few LSs, or that we need /shout for low lvl pt at all. You could always join more LS though, better chance that way.

If you are already on Gysahl, it might be wise to stay put and see how things go, because players like me are considering switching over ;)

Palim, i cant believes this would happen in Gys
